Using Creativity to Explore the Impact of Lived Experience in Trauma-Informed Care
Our own lived experience impacts how we respond to the presenting issues and lived experience of the individuals we work with, especially when trauma (theirs and our own) is involved. In this training, an overview of trauma and transference/countertransference will be provided and participants will engage in verbal and creative personal exploration of their countertransference with clients they wish to process. Participants will participate in arts-based activities to help them better understand their own triggers in the therapy room and how to use art making as a tool for personal and professional exploration.
