Ever wondered if Art Therapy is the right career for you? Ever wondered what it takes to actually become an Art Therapist? This training provides a detailed overview of the steps it takes to become an art therapist for people in all stages of their educational or professional journey. In this training you will engage in multiple art therapy activities to learn for yourself what it feels like as a participant and provide you with a snapshot of what the career field may entail. You will leave this training with clear next steps to pursue a career in art therapy. This training doubles as a self-care and personal processing opportunity.


Learning Objectives:

• What is art therapy and what is its history

• The difference between “Art Therapy” and “Therapeutic Art Making/Facilitation”

• Educational Requirements to become an art therapist starting with undergraduate studies

• How to become an art therapist if you already are a master’s level therapist

• Credentialing requirements after art therapy masters program is completed

• Places where art therapists work and populations that they work with

• 4 examples of art therapy directives / processes & how we learn about clients (in this case ourselves) through these activities


This training is for any person at any stage in their education / professional development that is curious about Art Therapy and what it takes to become an Art Therapist.
